1. About BarnDoor

BarnDoor is managed and run by Huw Gordon for the dual purpose of offering an affordable way to advertise farming jobs, and to enable applicants to know more about farm work places and working conditions. 2. What personal data is collected

In common with other websites, log files are stored on the web server saving details such as the visitor’s IP address, browser type, referring page and time of visit. Cookies may be used to remember visitor preferences when interacting with the website.

A. WordPress .By default WordPress does not collect any personal data about visitors, and only collects the data shown on the User Profile screen from registered users.

Leaving Reviews. When visitors leave reviews on the site WordPress collects the data shown in the reviews form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymised string created from the user’s email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. All reviews will be published anonymously- personal details about the reviewer will never be published on BarnDoor.

B. Geodirectory. BarnDoor uses a Geodirectory plugin to perform most of the functionality of the site. Information about Geodirectory’s privacy policy is provided below; for further details see the Geodirectory Privacy Policy.

Listings. We collect information about you during the add listing process on our site. This information may include, but is not limited to, your name, email address, phone number, address, locations details including GPS co-ordinates and any other details that might be requested from you for the purpose of adding your business/personal listings.

Handling this data also allows us to:

  • Display this information in a public facing manner (such as a web page or API request) and allow website users to search and view submitted listing information.
  • Send you important account/order/service information.
  • Provide a way for users to contact your listing via the provided contact information.
  • Notify you of user interactions such as but not limited to review and contact notifications.
  • Respond to your queries or complaints.
  • Set up and administer your account, provide technical and/or customer support, and to verify your identity. We do this on the basis of our legitimate business interests.

Reviews. We collect information about you during the leave a review process on our site. This information may include, but is not limited to, your name, email address, IP address, website url, image(s), review ratings and review texts.

Handling this data also allows us to:

  • Display this information in a public facing manner (such as a web page or API request).
  • Notify you of interactions such as approval or rejection of your review.
  • Notify you of user interactions such as reply notifications.

Listing contact forms. We may collect information about you when you submit a contact form to a listing. This information may include, but is not limited to, your name, email address, IP address and contact texts.

Handling this data also allows us to:

  • – Send your contact message and details to the listings contact email.
  • – Monitor the contact system for spam and abuse.

C. Invoicing. Invoicing is a plugin used to manage payments safely and securely on BarnDoor. The privacy policy is stated below.

Invoices and checkout. We collect information about you during the checkout process on our site. This information may include, but is not limited to, your name, email address, phone number, address, IP and any other details that might be requested from you for the purpose of processing your payment and retaining your invoice details for legal reasons.

Handling this data also allows us to:

  • Send you important account/order/service information.
  • Estimate taxes based on your location.
  • Respond to your queries or complaints.
  • Process payments and to prevent fraudulent transactions. We do this on the basis of our legitimate business interests.
  • Retain historical payment and invoice history. We do this on the basis of legal obligations.
  • Set up and administer your account, provide technical and/or customer support, and to verify your identity. We do this on the basis of our legitimate business interests.

In addition to collecting information at checkout we may also use and store your contact details when manually creating invoices for require payments relating to prior contractual agreements or agreed terms.

What we share with others. We share information with third parties who help us provide our payment and invoicing services to you; for example —

We accept payments through PayPal. When processing payments, some of your data will be passed to PayPal, including information required to process or support the payment, such as the purchase total and billing information. Please see the PayPal Privacy Policy for more details.

D. UsersWP. BarnDoor uses the UsersWP plugin to manage membership and accounts. The privacy policy is stated below; please see the UsersWP Privacy Policy for more details.

User data/profile. We collect information about you during the registration and edit profile process on our site. This information may include, but is not limited to, your name, email address, phone number, address, IP and any other details that might be requested from you for the purpose of building your public profile.

Handling this data also allows us to:

  • Send you important account/order/service information.
  • Display this information in a public facing manner (such as a web page or API request) and allow website users to search and view submitted information.
  • Respond to your queries or complaints.
  • Set up and administer your account, provide technical and/or customer support, and to verify your identity. We do this on the basis of our legitimate business interests.

Any profile information provided to this site may be displayed publicly.

E. Caldera Forms. BarnDoor uses the Caldera Forms plugin to create some forms. The privacy policy is stated below; more details can be found here.

Caldera Forms stores a record of all form submissions. Your data may be deleted by the site administrator. You may request a report of saved data related to your email address.

Caldera Forms stores data only briefly for each submission. Uploaded media files may remain on the server.

F. Google Analytics. BarnDoor uses google analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google. The information generated by the cookie about your use of BarnDoor (including your IP address) will be transmitted to and stored by Google on servers in the United States. Google will use this information for the purpose of evaluating your use of our website, compiling reports on website activity for website operators and providing other services relating to website activity and internet usage. Google may also transfer this information to third parties where required to do so by law, or where such third parties process the information on Google’s behalf. 3. How the Information is used and where it is stored

The information is stored by the web hosting provider in Florida, US. The web hosting provider is not registered under the privacy shield. Information is safeguarded using additional security measures which include firewalls, virus monitoring, strong passwords, intrusion monitoring and access control, and steps are currently being taken to add encryption to the web logs and mail logs to make them GDPR compliant. The hosting provider only collects analytic data to access the performance of the web site.

The information gathered is used to enhance the visitor’s experience when using the website to display personalised content and possibly advertising. Email addresses will not be sold, rented or leased to 3rd parties. Email addresses may be used to inform you of news of our services, notifications relevant to your BarnDoor account, or offers by us or our affiliates.

4. How Long We Retain Your Data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognise and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

5. What Rights You Have Over Your Data

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

6. Visitor Options

You may be able to block cookies via your browser settings but this may prevent you from access to certain features of the website.

7. Cookies

Cookies are small digital signature files that are stored by your web browser that allow your preferences to be recorded when visiting the website. Also they may be used to track your return visits to the website.

If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

If you have an account and you log in to this site, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.

If you edit or publish a listing, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day.

8. Third Party Cookies

3rd party advertising companies may also use cookies for tracking purposes.

We publish Google AdSense advertisements on our website. To determine your interests, Google will track your behaviour on our website and on other websites across the web using the DoubleClick cookie. This behaviour tracking allows Google to tailor the advertisements you see on other websites to reflect your interests. Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.
